New & Exciting!

Emma Collings has become part of the new Victoria Stilwell venture called, Victoria Stilwell Positively (VSP). This organisation will become a worldwide organisation for trainers to get the opportunity to be part of a positive training ethos. Members of the public who are looking for professional and quality training for their dog can be assured that VSP Trainers will only use positive based methods.

Emma is proud to be a VSP Trainer and also part of the selection team in the UK.

School For Paws are currently upgrading by looking to provide indoor training facilities within the Shrewsbury area to provide more classes, workshops and new agility classes. Agility training will also be available from Lee Gibson, one of the UK's best trainers and handlers. More news to follow soon....

Recall Workshops


Can you get your dog back on when you call him/her first time? Would your dog choose you over another dog in the park? If you think your recall is not reliable then come to a recall workshop where we will show you how to achieve that perfect recall within a few weeks.


The workshop will last for 2 hours and the venues will be confirmed on booking. Held at Shrewsbury and Oswestry. The cost is £28 including your training sheets and your own 30 foot long line to take away with you at the end of the workshop. Please bring tasty treats with you for your dog, such as chicken, cheese or ham.

Next workshop date: SATURDAY 13TH MARCH 1.30PM-3.30PM. HELD AT WALFORD EQUESTRIAN CENTRE, INDOOR SCHOOL, BASCHURCH.

Puppy Classes

New term starting Monday evenings, 19th April at 6.30pm.

Venue: Montford Parish Hall, Montford Bridge, Shrewsbury.

Duration: Course runs for 6 weeks each session for 1 hour. (No training on Bank Holidays)

Booking essential. Limited spaces. Training manual also provided.

Cost: £50 for the 6 week term.

Agility Training

The new training barn will be completed in the near future. Indoor pet dog agility will be held on Saturday mornings. If you are interested in taking part please email your interest to Emma at info@schoolforpaws.co.uk. All dogs must have basic obedience; a recall, a sit or down wait and the ability to work off lead with handler.

Walking on the lead workshop


Does your dog pull all the time? Do you enjoy a leisurely walk with your dog or do your arms feel like they have been pulled out of their sockets? Learn to how to walk your dog calmly on a loose lead using TLC training methods.


Venue at Oswestry and Shrewsbury. Course will run for 2 hours and cost is £20 including literature to take away. Groups are no more than 6 people so booking required. If you are interested in the next course please email Emma full details of yourself and your dog and we will put you on the waiting list.


Preparing for your puppy.

If you are first time dog owner and are just planning on getting a puppy then this course is ideal for you. You may want advice on what is the best breed to choose, what to expect when your pup arrives, learn to cope with toilet training and start training with confidence. You will also receive helpful hints from School For Paws trainer and get the opportunity to ask questions. Sign up for your puppies first course or 1-2-1 training package and receive a discount! (Ask for details when booking course).
